Polygraph vs. Intelligent Questionnaire: When to Use Which

Not every hire needs a polygraph. Here's when a structured questionnaire is enough — and when to escalate to a forensic examiner.

A polygraph is a powerful, forensic-grade tool — but it isn't the right first move for every hire. Here's how we help clients choose.

Use an intelligent questionnaire when: the role is standard, volume is high, and you want fast, defensible screening at scale.

Escalate to a polygraph when: the role involves cash handling, sensitive data, security, or executive responsibility — or when a questionnaire has surfaced meaningful red flags.

In practice, most of our clients start every hire with our Professional package (questionnaire + verifications) and escalate only the cases that warrant it. Polygraph tests are booked directly with our TLDV examiners in Hillcrest.
